Ms. Sarita Jaishankar, an accomplished academic leader and educator from Mumbai, has been associated with Jai Hind College since 2008 and has contributed extensively to academic and institutional development. She has been serving as the Head of the Department since 2013, providing academic leadership and mentoring faculty members. She has also served as Vice Principal of the college from 2015 to 2019, where she was involved in academic administration, faculty development and institutional operations. From 2019 to 2024, she served as the Academic Head, overseeing academic schedules, accreditation processes and interdisciplinary collaboration. Throughout her academic career, she has been recognized for her innovative teaching approach and strong commitment to student engagement and learning outcomes. She has played an important role in curriculum development and in fostering collaboration among faculty and departments. Her leadership extends beyond her institution, as she serves as an Academic Board Member at the Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics. She has also been associated with Arthanomics, one of India’s largest intercollegiate economics conventions, as Faculty In-charge. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics. Her strengths include academic leadership, effective communication, organizational skills and faculty mentoring. With her rich experience in education and academic administration, she brings valuable insight and perspective to the academic community.
